These locks are a
great choice for a new installation or replacement of an outdated conventional
lock.
The AR105-B and the
AR105-C are physically identical. The even use the same circuit board between
them. The difference is the CPLD chip and the programming on the chips.
The AR105-B is
intended to be used where ever you would use an AR105-A. It's a general purpose,
low cost lock that's designed to work well and keep your costs down. At $15.00
ea. or $100.00 for a 10 pack, it's the lowest cost reprogrammable lock on the
market. It works on all the same receivers as the AR105-A.
The AR105-C is
actually two locks in one. It's the AR105-B lock with an additional lock built
right in. The second lock is for the PVR units. It uses a larger CPLD chip to
hold the additional code. These locks are so similar in appearance, the only way
to tell them apart is the number on the CPLD chip. The AR105-B uses a Xilinx
XC9536XL CPLD, the AR105-C uses a Xilinx XC9572XL CPLD.
Everyone will tell
you that their locks are the best. I won't. I'll let you figure that out for
yourself. The real proof here is in the performance and functionality of the
lock. Find one that does more for you. I'll bet you can't. Find one that costs
less. I'll bet you can't either.
If this lock is
ever compromised, we'll put the updated software up for free download. You'll
need a Windows NT/2K/XP computer with a printer port, some free software, our
update file, and about 5 minutes to reflash it. It takes more time to remove the
cover than it does to reflash.
